Write it, don’t say it, keep thinking it

I used to be really resistant to the notion of writing down goals. I’m not sure why - I just felt it wasn’t necessary. I knew in my head what I wanted , that’s enough, right?

The first time my business coach insisted I write my goals down - in complete detail - I was amazed at how different I felt. It was like I was literally giving my subconscious mind a detailed set on instructions to work on. And the more detailed information I gave it, the clearer the eventual outcome. The more I could see the outcome, the more efficiently my mind could work on achieving it. Duh.

The act of writing our goals is like creating a blueprint for your success. Writing creates focuse, and remember, the more focused you are on your goals, the more likely you are to accomplish them.

Another caveat from my wise business coach, was that unless someone is helping you to achieve your goals, don’t share your goals with other people. That didn’t resonate with me at first. After all, shouldn’t you keep your goals in front of you at all times, and sharing them out loud is a good way to do that right? Well, not always. Sometimes the negative attitude from friends and family can drag you down and make it difficult to stay positive. So now I’m more careful about who I share my vision with.

I can joyfully say that right now it’s working. Each time I think about something I’d like to do, I ask myself - is this taking me closer to, or further away, from my goal? I’m making my decisions based on how they link to my vision of my life. And I’m ok with saying no to them if they don’t.
Like eating healthy and working out, it’s something you have to do every day - consistently - to see results.

I wanted to thank you for being the inspiration in my life, to help me realize I could make a change. I would not have had the idea to work from home if I hadn't coached with you!
