WHY CAN’T I TAME THIS CLUTTER?

Taming the clutter beast is right at the top of the list of reasons why people want to get organized. But sometimes there’s a lot of resistance behind even an on fire decision to clear it away. Why is that? Well, here’s are a few of the “stories” I hear most frequently. . .
I paid a lot of money for that. Yes, but you’re also wasting money taking care of it. (And that’s not taking into account what you’re paying me to help you store it!) Everything you own costs you in time, upkeep, and space. If you don’t use it or love it - let it go.
It was a gift. If you don’t love it or use it – regift it! It’s the thought that counts anyway.
I might need it someday. Why? When? How? And by that time will you be able to find it? Don’t keep an item just because of “might”.
It’s perfectly good, it just needs to be fixed. Yes, but how long has it been sitting there? If it’s that good, get it fixed.
It has sentimental value. Everything has sentimental value in one form or another. If you don’t absolutely love it or use it, take a photo of it and pass it along. The value of keeping it will be totally offset by the distraction of all the clutter.
